The Chair of the Ghent Workgroup (GWG), David Zwang, is WhatTheyThink’s workflow expert, and a frequent contributor to the publication. Dave is one of the world’s premier graphic communications consultants, advising governments and Fortune 500 companies, as well as many developing countries with rapidly growing technology centers.
The three co-chairs of the GWG Packaging Committee are Steve Carter, Senior VP Technology at Phototype; Lieven Plettinck, Director of Software Development, Esko; and Christian Blaise, Owner of Bleuprocess.
Steve is the Senior Vice President of Technology at Phototype and has over 30 years of experience leveraging technology to enhance the graphic design-to-production process. Prior to joining Phototype, he spent the better part of his career with TSI Graphics and Southern Graphic Systems (SGS). Steve currently serves the industry as Co-Chair of the Ghent Workgroup (GWG) Packaging Subcommittee, and is a member of Esko Users Group International (EUGI), IDEAlliance (formerly the International Prepress Association (IPA)), and an Advisor to the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) FIRST committee.
Lieven has served on the packaging committee since 2008. He’s been Chairman of the Packaging and Labels workgroup within CIP4 since 2004. Prior to that, he held senior positions at BARCO, including 17 years as Manager of Research and Development.
Christian has over 20 years of experience in the Graphic Arts industry, having worked in both Packaging and on the Computing/Software side. He is now one of the most recognized experts in the market. Prior to bleuprocess, Christian has been International Sales Account Manager for Enfocus, Graphic Chain Manager for Nestlé and Prepress Manager of the Société Alsacienne d’Aluminium.
